On Maxwell on Electromagentism, 2016

On Einstein on Maxwell on Electromagnetism, 2016

In this project, imagery of elecromagnetism is juxtaposed with a visualization of a text about the phenomenon. Radiating waves and concentric ovals link the two prints, suggesting links between the physical world and the way we talk about it.

“The precise formulation of the time-space laws of those [electro-magnetic] fields was the work of [James Clerk] Maxwell. Imagine his feelings when the differential equations he had formulated proved to him that electromagnetic fields spread in the form of polarized waves and with the speed of light! To few men in the world has such an experience been vouchsafed.” –Albert Einstein, 1954
