The Condensed OED

This piece represents some of the connections between words in the Oxford English Dictionary through a three-color, repeat screenprint. The heading words at the beginning and end of each letter of the alphabet are taken as sample words and represented with outlined, box-like shapes. A variety of connections between these words (part of speech, etymological origin, etc.) are indicated with a variety of connecting lines. The resulting network of connections suggests the complex web of relationships between words in the dictionary.
